Job Overview: Regional Sales Manager- HVAC
Will initially identify, establish and support sales channels for SANYOs ECOi Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) multi split product family in a large geographically assigned region of the U.S. Responsible for selling and promoting SANYO’s ECOi family of products and services requiring technical knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering. Includes educating design engineers, architects, contractors and building owners with regard to the benefits of the SANYO ECOi product line. Must be able to establish customer interest in SANYO’s products as well as guide and influence the client’s specification process. Manages assigned territory and accounts to maximize long-range account penetration and growth plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify business opportunities and execute sales strategies to win business in assigned territory.
  • Call on clients to convince them of the desirability and practicability of Sanyo’s ECOi products.
  • Establish and manage appropriate sales channels for Sanyo’s ECOi products
  • Monitor sales targets on a monthly basis and communicate goals to Division VP
  • Develop expertise on the features, benefits, technical performance, and design guidelines for SSANYO’s ECOi products sold in the United States.
  • Educate customers and promote SANYO’s product line. Update customers on new products and changes as they occur.
  • Provide technical information and brochures to clients. Answer technical questions and conduct demonstrations of products and new features to prospective clients.
  • Gather ongoing prospect/customer feedback, enhancement requests, and related information.
  • Participate in the scheduling of and participation of technical training, product installation and problem resolution support in conjunction with Regional Service Manager
  • Integrate new products and product enhancements from SANYO Electric Company into the US market.
  • Effectively communicate technical product knowledge to customers through client visits, technical presentations, e-mail and phone contact.
  • Propose changes in equipment or use of materials resulting in cost reduction or operational improvement. Work with customers, National Service Manager and Service Support Staff to determine how products or services could be designed or modified to best meet clients’ needs.
  • Provide market and competitor intelligence, as well as continuing analysis of territory and major account potential.
  • Report on market changes affecting SANYO’s products or services.
  • Provide customer pre and post sales support.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical engineering preferred – or equivalent and relatable experience
  • Minimum of 10 years relatable HVAC industry experience
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in HVAC commercial products design and sales
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in organizational/employee development
 
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, as well as through formal presentations.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the tools included in the Microsoft Office Professional Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Ability to translate complex thoughts and ideas and communicate/document them in an easy to understand form.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse groups across different functional areas and geographic locations.
  • Ability to interact across departmental boundaries for the purpose of providing support where needed.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.
  • Understanding of basic budget preparation and controls principles.
 
Physical Conditions/Work Environment:
  • This position requires significant travel.
  • Required to stand for long periods, walk, use hands to pick up, handle or feel and reach with arms.
  • Ability to read and analyze written information on a computer terminal. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are necessary.
  • Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard and mouse for long periods.
  • Must be able to move freely from location to location within the facility.  Ability to climb ladders or stairs and stoop or crouch for working in confined spaces is necessary.
  • Must be able to lift boxes and/or equipment of up to 40 pounds.
  • Working Conditions –noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
