[For Reference] Ivan Stewart’s Electric Bike Center Showcases SANYO ‘eneloop bike’ at Boat Show

January 29, 2010

San Diego, CA, January 29, 2010 – SANYO North America Corporation (SANYO) announces that its ‘eneloop bike’ Synergetic Hybrid Bicycle model for North America will be showcased by Ivan Stewart’s Electric Bike Center this Saturday and Sunday at the San Diego Sunroad Boat Show happening this week from January 28 to January 31.

“With an electric bike like the eneloop bike, you can run to the store, travel to work, the beach or just enjoy life without worrying about parking or the high price of gas,”  said Ivan Stewart, President of the Electric Bike Center.

The Electric Bike Center brings clean, green alternative transportation options to the residents of San Diego. Founded by Ivan Stewart, who is perhaps best known for tackling the desert in off-road trucks, the new shop features electric bicycles, raising awareness of human impact on the environment, while providing a fun, alternative method of commuting and leisurely riding.

The San Diego Sunroad Boat Show in the Sunroad Marina is located downtown at 955 Harbor Island in north San Diego Bay, across the street from the San Diego International Airport. Show hours this weekend are Saturday, January 30, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday, January 31, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m, and the eneloop bike will be available for a demonstration ride during those hours.

About the eneloop bike
SANYO’s award-winning eneloop bike is a 26-inch, three-speed regenerative, pedal-assist hybrid electric bicycle. Riders can choose to move under their own power or can engage the bike’s motor and electrical system to pedal in one of three assist modes – standard, power-up or auto – where the front hub-based motor helps the bicycle and rider travel forward.

The eneloop bike Synergetic Hybrid Bicycle (Model # CY-SPA600NA) is a part of the SANYO ‘eneloop universe,’ a series of products that are based on a lifestyle concept of reusing and recycling, such as “energy” by “looping” it in a sustainable cycle. The concept was first shown as SANYO announced the ‘eneloop’ rechargeable battery in 2005 and has grown to include a number of award-winning products.

At a suggested retail price of $2,299.95, the eneloop bike embodies SANYO strengths and combines both its rechargeable battery and battery systems’ technologies with its concept of preserving and promoting a sustainable environment, whether at work or leisure.
