SANYO Introduces Flagship Rice Cooker Using Induction Heat & Pressure

Newest rice cooker model uses innovative technology to create perfect rice everytime!

March 22, 2009

Chatsworth, CA, March 22, 2009 – SANYO Fisher Company, a division of SANYO North America Corporation, a leader in consumer electronics and home appliances in North America announces the launch of an Induction Heating Pressure Rice Cooker, which uses innovative technology to create consistent, perfect rice. The new 5.5-cup (11-cups cooked) rice cooker will be on display at the International Home and Housewares Show Booth #L12127, March 22-24 in Chicago. The ECJ-JG10W is available now at select retail outlets in the US.

The ECJ-JG10W uses Induction Heating (I.H.) technology for quick and uniform heating, powered by a micro-computerized control. Combined with Variable Pressure Control® technology, the rice cooker produces sweet, fluffy rice every time.

“The new pressure rice cooker is innovatively designed by combining the best elements of our popular pressure rice cooker with induction heating, a technology widely used in rice cookers in Japan,” said Richard Miller, VP and General Manager, Consumer Products Group, SANYO Fisher Company. “SANYO is well-known for our ingenious rice cookers and the addition of induction heating offers consumers the high level of performance and results they can expect with a flagship model from SANYO.”

Induction heating technology provides greater temperature control and more consistent heat distribution. Rather than heating the inner pot in a traditional manner, induction-heating technology uses electromagnetic energy to heat the copper-coated inner pot. The result is a more efficient use of energy and a faster and more precise heating method. Throughout the rice cooking cycles, radical changes in pressure cause intense boiling and “dancing rice.” The heat and moisture penetrate deeply and evenly into individual rice grains to produce sweet and fluffy rice.

The ECJ-JG10W rice cooker features multi-menu and texture selections for different types of rice automatically cooked the way the user likes it. The microcomputer (fuzzy-logic) control automatically adjusts the temperature and cooking time specifically for the type of rice being cooked based on user-input data for the type and texture of rice. The large, easy-to-read LCD Clock and 24-hour preset timer allows for cooking completion at a desired time of day.

Since the introduction of its first rice cooker, SANYO has built a solid reputation as a technology and design innovator. The new ECJ-JG10W sports a stylish and compact design with an easy to read LCD and large, straightforward buttons. The extra-thick inner pot is composed of aluminum and stainless steel with a non-stick inner coating and copper exterior. The rice cooker is easy to clean with its non-stick inner pot and removable steam vent. A new pre-soak feature & 30-hour keep-warm function enhance this cooker’s capabilities. A special tray and dedicated course ensure simple steaming of vegetables or other healthy foods.

The ECJ-JG10W is available immediately at select retail outlets for $499.
