SAN DIEGO, CA, September 10, 2010 – SANYO North America Corporation (SANYO), a subsidiary of and the North American regional headquarters of SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., based in San Diego, announces it will be showing the public its recently announced eneloop bike (
CY-SPH600NA) as well as its previously announced eneloop bike model (
CY-SPA600NA) and offering test rides to participants this Sunday at
Street Smart San Diego. Free to the public, Street Smart San Diego takes place on Sunday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Now in its fifth year, Street Smart San Diego is part of Sustainable Energy Week 2010 and is presented and held at the
California Center for Sustainable Energy home office on 8690 Balboa Ave., in Kearny Mesa. The event offers a venue open to public demonstrations and showcases for the latest alternative fuel vehicles, where participants can see the future in action. Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to experience first-hand alternative fuel vehicles, learn from alternative fuel experts and meet with energy-savvy professionals.
SANYO’s eneloop bike (CY-SPA600NA) has received high acclaim for engineering, and at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show, received the “Best of Innovations” Award in the Eco-Design and Sustainable Technology Category.

Test riders will experience the ‘lighter than air’ feeling the eneloop bike offers, as well as learn about the “loop charge function” that offers regenerative coasting and braking, recharging the battery while in motion. The synergetic hybrid bicycle is also designed for a safer, more stable ride.
