SANYO Shows Strong Value Proposition at ASIS 2008.

New Purpose-Built H.264 HD And Wide Dynamic Range Cameras Lead Line-Up.

September 15, 2008

September 15, 2008 – SANYO Security Systems, a division of SANYO Fisher Company, is displaying a strong line-up of video surveillance solutions designed and built to provide optimized value and ROI to the end-user.  With a new H.264 HD megapizel IP video surveillance camera engineered from the ground up for security applications, a new wide dynamic range camera featuring a radically new linear output method, a full line of PTZ speed domes and a new system controller for convenient systems operation, SANYO continues to demonstrate their commitment to providing cost-effective solutions for the video surveillance market.

With this new HD megapixel camera, SANYO focused specifically on the needs of the video surveillance professional to design a revolutionary camera that is purpose-built for security.  By reducing the number of cameras needed for large scale coverage, optimizing bandwidth and delivering more detailed images for real-time viewing in addition to video analytics, SANYO’s new HD megapixel camera provides tangible ROI for its market.

Featured SANYO products at ASIS 2008 include:

The SANYO VCC-HD4000 h.264 Full HD Megapixel IP Video Surveillance Camera features dual CODEC H.264 and JPEG compression engines, helping to conserve valuable bandwidth on the network.  1920 x 1080p in 16x9 ratio delivers true HD performance, while an on-board web browser enables video over the network.  With specially crafted HD lens optics for improved image quality, the camera also has a true day/night cut filter to assure high quality images 24/7.  Other advanced features include an SD card slot and USB terminal for local recording, LAN/HDMI/BNC connection to accommodate any system configuration and PoE to facilitate installation, 10X (6.3-63mm) auto-focus HD lens for maximum versatility and auto-focus exposure control for advanced analytics such as facial recognition.

With a newly developed CMOS sensor from Texas Instruments and a processor incorporating Iridix technology from Apical Limited SANYO’s new VCC-W8774 (color) and VCC-WD8874 (color day/night) Wide Dynamic Range Cameras have a dynamic range that far surpassed current wide dynamic cameras and set a new standard for the security industry.  By adopting a radically new linear output method, SANYO has created a security-optimized camera that delivers performance under varying light conditions and one which utilizes a new image processing algorithm for capabilities approaching the human eye.  Both cameras deliver 550 lines of horizontal resolution with 480,000 pixel-resolution to capture the smallest details.

The SANYO VCC-W1072 Super-Mini Dome Camera with Wide Dynamic Range features newly developed technology that dramatically increases dynamic range by creating a single image combining two exposures at different shutter speeds.  This allows the VCC-W1072 to capture more information and details, for clearer, well balanced images even under highly contrasted lighting conditions.

The SANYO VCC-9500 Series High-speed PTZ Dome is a color system dome offering 0.8 lx @ Fl.6.  The SANYO Vcc-9600 Series High-Speed PTZ System Dome is a day/night system dome offering 0.8 lx @Fl.6 (color), 0.05 lux @ Fl.6 B/W and IR cut filter removal system.  Both the VCC-9700 Series and the VCC-9800 Series offer 36X optical zoom and 16X digital zoom (576X total) with 540 TVL super high resolution and up to 32x sensitivity boost.  Digital image stabilization is also included, along with automatic tracking of objects within the scene, 32 rectangular privacy masking areas of arbitrary size and a pan range of 360° continuous rotation.  The cameras include RS-485 or coaxial control communication, supporting SANYO SSP RS-485, SANYO SSP Coax and a range of competitive protocols.  There are 256 preset positions and three auto-mode settings: sequence, tour and auto pan.  The cameras are available in surface, in-ceiling and outdoor versions with an optional VA-82LAN dual codec (H.264 and JPEG) network board making them already IP ready.

The new SANYO VSP-3000 System Controller provides control of up to 256 cameras from a variety of manufacturers and up to 99 SANYO DVRs, simplifying and centralizing operation of medium to large scale video surveillance systems.  Features include a three-axis joystick controller for smooth pan/tilt/zoom operation and a 29-key keyboard.  In addition to supporting SANYO’s camera protocols, the unit also supports cameras from other major manufacturers.

Also featured at ASIS 2008 is SANYO’s Video Pilot Network Video Management and Recording Solution.   This successful PC-based video surveillance systems and affords users advanced interoperability and integration.  Video Pilot offers open architecture to provide control over SANYO’s popular lineup of Pan-Focus IP cameras and embedded DVRs.

SANYO will again be demonstrating their exclusive Pan-Focus™ technology in their ASIS booth.  A completely new breakthrough, Pan-Focus utilizes deep focusing techniques to provide continuous focus across the entire field of view - from the foreground to the background – keeping all objects simultaneously in focus.
