CABLE BOX / SPLITTER / DVD RECORDER / DTV HOOKUPS
Refer to the user’s guide that came with your Cable box and DVD recorder for complete operating instructions.
CABLE BOX / SIGNAL SPLITTER / DVD RECORDER / AV CONNECTIONS (VIDEO2)

1 Connect a cable from the Cable Service wall plate to the “IN” terminal on a signal splitter.

2 Connect one splitter “OUT” to the DTV ANT terminal and the other splitter “OUT” to the Cable Box “IN” terminal using two 75 ohm coaxial cables.

3 Connect the Cable box “OUT” terminal to the DVD recorder “IN” terminal using a 75 ohm coaxial cable.

4 Connect the Cable box S-Video Out and Audio Out jacks to the DVD recorder S-Video In and Audio In jacks, matching audio connector colors to jack colors.

5 Connect the DVD recorder S-Video Out and Audio Out jacks to the DTV VIDEO2 S-Video and Audio In jacks, matching audio connector colors to jack colors.

 

6 Press the MENU key on the DTV’s remote and select All Channel Search to program in your Cable channels. (Refer to the owner’s manual for specific instructions.)

7 Use the INPUT key on the DTV’s remote to select Video 2 to watch premium Cable channels and DVDs.

NOTES: This hookup does not provide for off-air digital channels to be received. Only non-premium Cable channels are received by the DTV tuner.

You can record a premium cable channel and watch a non-premium cable channel.

The DVD recorder must be powered ON and the DTV set to view Video 2 signals to watch premium Cable channels, see Step 7.

Select premium channels and channels to record with the Cable box tuner.

Set DVD recorder channel to match RF output from Cable box (usually channel 2, 3, or 4). Check with your provider for details.
