CABLE BOX / VCR / DTV HOOKUPS
Choose the best connection available.
Refer to the user’s guide that came with your Cable box and your VCR owner’s manual for instructions.
CABLE BOX / VCR / AV CONNECTIONS (VIDEO2)

1 Connect a cable from the Cable Service wall plate to the Cable Box “IN” terminal.

2 Connect the Cable box “OUT” terminal to the VCR “IN” terminal using a 75 ohm coaxial cable.

3 Connect the VCR “OUT” terminal to the DTV ANT terminal using a 75 ohm coaxial cable.

Optional AV Connections for better quality recording and playback

4 Connect your Cable box Video Out jacks to the VCR Video In jacks, matching connector colors to jack colors.

5 Connect your VCR Video Out jacks to the DTV VIDEO2 jacks, matching connector colors to jack colors.

 

6 Use the INPUT key on the DTV’s remote to select Video 2 for the best VCR playback option.

NOTES: Select all Cable channels with the Cable box tuner.

Set VCR channel to match RF output from Cable box (usually channel 2, 3, or 4).
Check with your provider for details.

Set DTV channel to match RF output from VCR (usually channel 3 or 4).

When using optional AV connections the VCR must be powered ON and the DTV set to view Video 2 signals, see Step 6.
