1. How do I know if my SANYO TV is digital or not and will continue to work after February 19, 2009?
SANYO TVs with model numbers starting with prefix HT, DP or FVM have combination Integrated Analog and Digital QAM tuners that will continue to receive digital broadcast off-air television transmitted signals after February 19, 2009. All other previous SANYO analog only models will work after this date only if they are hooked up to a cable, satellite or digital set top receiver convertor box. For more information on the Digital TV Transition go to:
http://www.dtv.gov/index.html

2. Where can I find hookup diagrams for the components that I want to connect to my new television?
Please refer to the following web site:
http://us.sanyo.com/entertainment/televisions/diagrams.cfm

3. What channel do I put my television on to watch a DVD player?
First follow the color code connections from the DVD player to the back of the television (if using component red, blue, green, remember that a left and right audio must also be connected). Press the input button on the remote or channel-scan up or down to select the set of jacks on the television where the DVD player is connected.

4. I am not receiving all of my VHF and UHF channels or cable channels?
Make sure an antenna or cable is connected to the antenna/cable connection. If there is a VCR connected, make sure it is turned off. If you are connected to a cable box or satellite receiver, turn it on, then press the reset button on the remote two times to begin an automatic channel search.

5. I have connected a satellite receiver directly to the digital connection on the television and cannot receive my satellite channels.
Although the satellite signal is digital it must be processed by a satellite receiver. The out to TV connection on the satellite must be connected to the VHF/UHF/Cable connection (labeled ANT on some models) on the television.

6. How do you turn the captioning on and off?
To turn captioning on or off, press and release the CAPTION key on the remote until the desired caption mode appears (Caption 1 is used most commonly). Or press the CAPTION key on the remote and select the desired captioning mode with the “0” key, following the instructions on the screen.

7. connected to a satellite system. How do I get my television to go to channel 73?
Turn on the satellite receiver then press the RESET button on the remote twice to begin a channel search. If (after the search) no satellite picture appears, press the MENU key on the remote and select the antenna mode. Use the CURSOR key to select Cable. Exit the menu, then press in channel 73.

8. My television does not have audio output jacks. How can I connect it to a surround sound system?
If you are connected to a cable box or satellite receiver, connect the surround sound system to the audio outputs on these receivers.

9. How do I get a full picture on the screen?
If you are connected to an HD cable box or satellite receiver, bring up the box menus and select the proper screen ratio to match that of your television (16:9 or 4:3). Then press the PIX SHAPE key on the television remote for the desired screen shape.

10. Is my remote universal?
No. This remote is designed to operate a Sanyo television only.

11. I do a channel search some of my digital channels disappear. What is wrong?
Many digital stations are not on the air 24 hrs. per day. After doing the initial channel search, always do a digital add-on search so that any stations that are not on-the-air during the time the search is performed will not be erased.

12. There is no picture, sound is okay.
Check appropriate video connection to make sure it corresponds to the audio connection being used. If connected with the component jacks on a DVD player, it may be necessary to access the DVD menu to select the component outputs or S-Video output.

13. There is no sound, picture is clear.
If you are connecting your television through the video, S-Video, or component jacks, the corresponding audio jacks must also be connected.

14. The picture is not as clear as it should be. Am I using the best quality connection?
Picture quality is classified as follows:

RF cable connection: Basic
Composite (yellow): Good
S-Video: Better
Component (red, blue, green): Exceptional
RF Antenna (HD signal and HD DTV): Ultimate
HDMI: Ultimate

15. How can I prevent or remove burned images on my plasma television?
To help prevent burn-in make sure the picture rotation in the menu is turned on. Also reducing the contrast level in the menu will help prevent this problem. If burn-in does occur, select the white pattern in the menu and allow it to clear the screen.

16. How do I register my television warranty?
No registration is necessary—hold on to your sales receipt. We will warranty the television from the date on the receipt.

17. Where is the code for a Sanyo television to program into my universal remote?
This code will have to be obtained from the manufacturer of the remote that you want to program. Refer to the Remote Owner’s Manual.

18. My television is HD. Will all of my channels now be HD?
There are three inputs to receive HD signals: The digital connection using an antenna for local digital stations, component jacks (red, blue, green) connected to a HD satellite receiver or HD cable box, or HDMI connected to a HD satellite receiver or HD cable box. Not all stations that broadcast the HD logo are true HD. Remember the signal must be HD from the network to the local station. At any point, if the signal is covered to Standard Definition, the signal will no longer be true HD.

19. When I adjust the volume on the television, why does the volume level on the surround sound system remains steady?
The audio output jacks on the television do not vary with the television sound. The volume control on the surround sound system must be used.

20. My digital channel number doesn’t match the station number.
On some digital channels the channel number displayed on the television will be different than the channel ID number. This is determined by the digital package broadcasted from the local station through the digital signal.

21. What is the recommended method for cleaning the cabinet and screen?
Cleaning of the LCD and plasma screen should be done with a damp soft cotton cloth.

22. The picture on my LCD television appears to be dark. What can I do?
Access the television menu and turn the brightness up to a satisfactory level. Also, the viewing angle for this television is eye level or 90 degrees. If the television is going to be viewed at a greater angle or higher distance from the floor, a wall mount bracket is advised.
